Beginners learn the basics of note reading & improvisation. Using a combination of method books, supplementary material, theory & ear training, Alli will have you making music in short order. Those coming with experience will be met where they are & given room to grow creatively as well as technically.
Voice
Beginners learn the basics of breath control, pitch matching & time keeping. Using a combination of breath control exercises, popular music, theory & ear training, Alli will help you bring your vocals to a new level. Those coming with experience will be met where they are & given room to grow creatively as well as technically.
Sing & Play Piano
Singing is one thing, piano is another. Singing & playing together is a third instrument. Learning to coordinate your vocal & piano styles is a great way of increasing your musicianship skills organically once foundations for each instrument are in place.
Overview
Alli has been singing & studying piano since 1995. She has attained a diploma in Jazz Studies from the Victoria Conservatory of Music (2015) as well as a Bachelor’s degree at Vancouver Island University (2019). By constantly seeking new musical challenges, Alli has made herself comfortable in many genres from Classical & Jazz to Pop, Rock, R&B, & Country. She is currently engaged with a handful of projects spanning across genres as well as constantly fine-tuning her own solo act. Alli has been teaching piano & voice lessons at multiple studios from Victoria to Nanaimo since 2016. Through her hard work with Jona Kristinsson & Indie Entertainment since 2018, she has developed a fresh perspective on vocal technique & keyboard skills, as well as a progressive teaching style suited to any age. Alli’s deepest core belief is that we are all works in progress & masterpieces at the same time; she is happy to support anyone’s journey down the path of self-discovery & self-improvement through healthy, fun musical development.
